Beans Thoran, Beans Sabji kerala style



  • 1/2 1/2 Kilogram Beans
  • 3 Onion (small)
  • 1 1 Cup Coconut (grated)
  • 3 Green chilli
  • 1 1 Teaspoon Mustard seed
  • 2 Garlic (pod)
  • 1 1 Tablespoon Oil
  • Turmeric (One pinch)
  • Curry Leaves (A few)
  • Salt (To taste)


  1. Cut beans into very small piece. Grind coconut, turmeric, onion, green chilli together.

  2. Add one teaspoon of oil in to a frying pan and add mustard.

  3. When the mustard pops add beans, garlic and mix well. Then add the ground coconut masala along with curry leaves. Do not mix but the masala should be covered by the beans.

  4. Springle a littel water on top and keep the pan covered to cook in a low flame for 5 minutes.

  5. Remove the lid and mix well the whole contents again and cook for 2-3 minutes without lid in low flame till done.
