- 1/2 1/2 Kilogram Cabbage
- 1 Onion - medium size (you may use small onions too for more taste)
- 1 1 Cup Coconut (ground)
- 3 3 Pieces Green chilli
- 1 1 Teaspoon Mustard seed
- 1 1 Teaspoon Urud Dal
- 1 1 Tablespoon Oil
- 1/2 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric one pinch
- Curry leaves few
- Salt (To taste)
- 2-3 nos Dry Red Chillies (vattal mulaku)
Chop cabbage in to very fine small pieces .
Grind coconut, turmeric, onion, green chilli together to a coarse paste (dry).
Mix Cabbage, ground masala, turmeric and salt together. Keep it aside. ( Mixing with hand for best results)
Add one table spoon of oil into a frying pan and add mustard.
When the mustard pops add urud dal, dry red chillies and curry leaves .
Now add cabbage - coconut mixture to it and mix well.
Cover and cook for 5 mintues in low flame.
Remove the lid and mix well to serve hot.
Tip :- you may also add 1/2 teaspoon of grated ginger along with green chili to give a different taste.
